I graduated from Cardiff University with a first class Masters degree in Integrated Engineering.

My work involves preparing and filing patent and design applications in the UK and Europe; and developing and implementing filing strategies across the world. I have been actively involved in successful opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office and regularly prepare validity and infringement opinions.

My work spans a wide field of technologies, from mechanical inventions, including engine technology, tribology, building construction, medical devices and materials sciences; to electronic and software inventions, including data processing techniques, telecommunication protocols and computing inventions.

Before joining Forresters in 2004, I was a Patent Examiner at the UK Patent Office, gaining insightful knowledge of the inner workings of the UK patent system, allowing me to offer a balanced perspective when handling examiner’s objections.

In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, running, cooking, socialising with friends and, of late, DIY – invariably ending in me having to call in the professionals!
