Gareth Hughes
IT Manager
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sussex in 1989. I majored in electronic engineering specialising in high frequency radio.
After leaving university I worked for a company that supplied electronic and IT equipment into the former Soviet Union. It was at this point that I started to specialise in computer networks, first in Ethernet and then in Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology.
I continued to develop my skills and started to specialise in Network Management Systems (NMS) based on Sun Solaris platforms. I was a consultant engineer specialising in NMS Systems from 1999 until 2005 when I joined Forresters.
I hold professional level certifications in both Checkpoint and Cisco.
I am married with three young children. When not working I taxi my children to and from their various activities. I also play badminton every week, ankles permitting, and cricket during the summer, weather permitting.
