April 2010
We don’t often feature purely personal matters on our news pages, but sometimes an exceptional story justifies it – and Alan Nugent’s is a perfect example.
Alan, aged 42, joined us just over a year ago as our Records & Formalities Manager, working in our London and Birmingham offices. Sadly, Alan is now terminally ill with cancer, having been diagnosed with Pseudonmyxoma Peritonei (PP), a rare form of the disease affecting the abdomen, in February this year.
Currently being looked after in Ellenor Lions Hospice in Dartford, Kent, Alan is working tremendously hard to raise awareness and funds for the hospice. His initial target was to raise £15,000, a goal he quickly achieved and which he has now revised to £20,000.
Alan’s story was featured in the evening BBC news recently, and he has set up his own webpage to raise money.

All of us at Forresters are proud of, and humbled by, Alan and his achievements and are continuing to support his excellent cause.
