Alex Lockey

UK Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney

I graduated from Durham University in 1992 with BSc in physics, having done all the astrophysics and particle physics modules available. I subsequently studied for a PhD at Cranfield University on a project partly funded by a major aerospace company, looking at using laser diodes to make velocity measurements in gas flows.

I have been with Forresters since 1996, qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 1999 and a UK Patent Attorney in 2001. I became a partner in 2003. I specialise in advising on patents and patent law, particularly in the areas of mechanical and software inventions, and I have represented clients in hearings at the UK and European Patent Offices.
