I graduated in physics a long time ago now, and joined Forresters in 1978. I became a partner in 1990. I have dealt with inventions in a large number of trade sectors but currently I specialise in electrical and hydraulic engineering particularly as they apply to automotive and aerospace technologies. Clients who make printing devices and systems have educated me in those arts too. During my years with Forresters, I have found myself becoming very involved in some of my clients' businesses, advising them from a very commercial perspective on their patenting strategies, and how to keep their trade mark portfolios in shape. This has led to many opportunities for me to practice negotiating and drawing up licence agreements.

Outside the office I enjoy blowing my sax (after a fashion), watching rugby with my friends and football with my sons - who have turned me into a keen supporter of West Bromwich Albion.
