Lloyd Hoarton
UK Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney
I graduated in aerospace systems engineering at Southampton University. I handle patent and design prosecution work in diverse engineering fields including miniature precision motors, white goods, digital watermarking, social computing and nano-engineering whilst retaining an active involvement in encryption techniques, telecommunications, electronics and computer/software related inventions.
I manage patent and design litigation matters for my clients and I delight in getting my clients the right form of protection for their innovations: be they football shirt designs, encryption techniques, gaming systems or aircraft seating. I predominantly represent clients with UK originating work and European patent prosecution work as well as handle portfolios of non-European cases for national institutions. I regularly represent my clients in oral proceedings before the European Patent Office Examining Division, Opposition Division and Board of Appeal.
I am based in our London office but enjoy my back-country skiing, ski touring, in-line skating, golf, photography (particularly of snowy activities) and socialising. Few of those activities are available to me in London so I am now adept at making winter travel arrangements.
