Russell Sessford

UK Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney

I graduated with a Masters degree in electrical and electronic engineering in 2004. Since joining Forresters in the same year, I have worked mainly with patents and patent applications for mechanical and electronic inventions. I have specific experience in the prosecution of patent applications for computer implemented inventions (computer programs for example) before the UK and European Patent Offices. In addition, I work on both UK and Community registered designs, and provide advice on UK design right.

My main areas of experience and interest include metrology, transmission line fault detection, papermaking equipment, geocoding and geographic information systems, computer networking protocols and infrastructure, built-in self-test systems for integrated circuits, telecommunications systems, cryptography, and electric motor construction and control methods.

Outside of work I enjoy running and squash, and I am making a belated attempt to learn Arabic (having spent much of my childhood in the Middle East).
