Beatrice Malacart
Trainee Patent Attorney
Beatrice is currently working towards becoming a fully qualified UK and European patent attorney. Beatrice is also proud of her work towards enhancing inclusivity in the intellectual property industry, as part of the committee of IP&ME.
Working primarily on patent prosecution work at the UKIPO and EPO, Beatrice has successfully brought patent applications to grant, and has assisted other patent attorneys at Forresters in handling patent cases and drafting responses.
With a background in biological sciences, Beatrice is able to work within a range of exciting industries. She primarily handles matters related to food technology, genetics and epigenetics, and the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Beatrice enjoys working with a variety of clients of all sizes, from start-up companies to large multinational corporations. Due to her technical expertise, she primarily works with companies in the biotechnology sector.
She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc in Biological Sciences with Honours in Genetics. The focus of her research project was understanding the genomic basis of host and vector specificity of non-pathogenic trypanosomatids.
In her spare time, Beatrice loves to travel, visiting her friends around the world. She also enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants, and likes to keep active by spending time outdoors, running, walking or hiking.
