- Medical Devices
I am familiar with patenting a diverse range of Life Sciences technology, but have particular expertise in medical devices and bioinformatics. I also have extensive experience working with the food and beverage industry patenting new ingredients and processes.
I enjoy contentious work and have handled a large number of oppositions at the EPO, often involving multiple parties and high-value cases. I apply this knowledge of post-grant proceedings to my extensive European and UK prosecution practice to help my clients build robust and commercially-relevant patent portfolios. I also carry out original drafting work.
My clients range from large multinational companies through to start-ups, individuals and foreign patent firms (particularly those based in the US). Many of my clients have told me that they enjoy working with me as I give friendly and practical advice that makes them feel comfortable and reassured.
I graduated from Cambridge University with a MA(Hons) in Natural Sciences, specializing in genetics and evolutionary biology. Whilst at university, I worked for a small pharma start-up company, where I was involved in developing recombinant antibodies to target the “superbug” MRSA. I joined Forresters in 2010, and happily qualified after the obligatory 4 years of demanding exams.
When I’m not working, I am most likely to be found in the kitchen or in downward facing dog.
