Diana Kolos
Trainee Patent Attorney
Diana joined Forresters as a trainee patent attorney in September 2023. Before joining Forresters, she completed her Ph.D. at Durham University, where her research centred on the application of linear and cyclic peptoids as antimicrobial agents.
Diana’s background primarily lies in the field of organic chemistry, and she has gained substantial experience in solid-phase synthesis, antimicrobial testing, and biophysical analysis.
In her training so far, Diana has been able to work with large pharmaceutical companies, as well as with clients working within industrial chemistry processes.
Diana graduated with a master’s degree in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry with an Industrial Placement from the University of Nottingham. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a year working at a pharmaceutical company in Basel. Upon returning to the UK to finish her degree, she embarked on a master’s project focusing on the synthesis of the SilE protein and its interaction with silver ions. Following graduation, she took up a position in an R&D laboratory within the pharmaceutical industry, where she worked on synthesising small macrocyclic peptides for CFTR.
Outside of work, Diana enjoys exploring galleries and museums, and she is an avid traveller whenever she can find the time. Additionally, she’s always open to immersing herself in a good book.
