I work for a wide range of clients, from solo inventors and tech start-up companies, to investment firms and multi-nationals. I aim to provide clear business-focussed advice on protecting their products and innovations. I take care to adapt to the requirements of each client, so they receive the information they need in a form they can understand, in order to make well-informed decisions.
Since joining the industry in 2008 I have enjoyed being involved in product development, guiding design choices to avoid competitors’ rights, and ensuring that my clients are free to make and sell their technology.
I have expertise in technologies including computer-related inventions, oil field technology, automotive technology and a range of consumer products. I have particular specialist knowledge of protecting mathematical algorithms, machine learning and other AI techniques, and working knowledge of database technology, blockchain systems, cloud-based systems, and applications of ‘big data’.
Aside from patent work, I advise clients on design registration and copyright issues. I also advise clients involved in disputes with competitors, including threats of patent, design right or copyright infringements.
In my spare time I keep fit by running regularly. I enjoy listening to live music when I get the chance, honing my skills in the kitchen, and playing video games.
